About Rocky Mountain Expo

The Rocky Mountain Hobby Expo is a juried exhibition dedicated to scale models and miniature art, including figure painting,

Unlike traditional model competitions, RME is structured as an exhibition. Each participant is treated as an exhibitor, with their work clearly identified and evaluated against established standards of the hobby rather than ranked against other entrants. This approach emphasizes recognition, learning, and appreciation of craftsmanship at every level.

Evaluation is conducted by pre-qualified subject matter experts prior to public display, allowing the exhibition floor to remain focused on conversation, inspiration, and shared enjoyment of the work. Awards are not limited by fixed categories, and modelers do not compete directly with one another.

Participation is open to everyone — from first-time hobbyists to experienced, published modelers. Whether entering work for evaluation or simply displaying models and connecting with others, RMHE is designed to be a welcoming, professional, and rewarding experience.
